 Tom - Rodolfo Tommasini
b. 15 May 1940 d. Feb 2009 (Tribute by Anne Fairbanks) Tom was born in Bologna, Italy and cam eto South AFrica with his parents and brother at the age of 9 years. He grew up in Johannesburg and studied Architecture at Wits University. Tom moved to Cape Town in the early 1980 and lived in the Gardens where De Waal Park became part of his daily life. It was a special place to Tom - a meeting place of people and their dogs. Tom's recent canine companion was Jenny (his 'Jenny-Girl) who has now been adopted by the friend who took care of her as Tom became unable to care for her in recent months as the result of the Emphyzema he had been suffering from the past 2-3 years.

 Congratulations to Grant Bacon on the opening of his exhibition of photographs, Our Country, at CaffeNeo, 129 Beach Road, Mouille Point. The photographs are superb, capturing the still essence of different parts of South Africa. Treat yourself to an excellent cappuccino and some wonderful photography. The exhibition runs until January 2009.
