International Jazz & Pop star Ike Moriz will be charming Capetonians with his velvet voice when he takes to De Waal Park’s Edwardian bandstand in the 7th in the popular series of Summer Concerts in the Park on the 4th of March.
The Summer Concerts in the Park series, sponsored by ReMax Living, was designed to offer all Capetonians the opportunity to experience top live acts, whilst enjoying the amenities of this pristine park at the foot of Table Mountain. Thousands have flocked to the six concerts which took place since the launch of the series in November last year (Hot Water, Sterling EQ, Karen Zoid, The Philharmonic Brass Quintet, The Gugulethu Tenors and The Rudimentals), in a community, social and entertainment project which has already become a new summer tradition for Cape Town.

Ike has received wide acclaim for his 11 albums ranging from original melodic indie Rock/Pop to Latin/Easy Listening & Jazzy Swing. His songs have been played in 17 countries worldwide, reaching No.1 in the UK, Holland, South Africa & Germany. The versatile Ike, whose songs are regularly awarded ‘top song of the month’ status by Rock legend David Bowie ‘on his website, has also acted in many major international feature films such as ‘Alfie’, ‘Shanghai Knights’ and ‘Love Actually’, and he appeared in local TV programs like ‘Showbiz Report’, ‘Top Billing’ & ‘Backstage’, as well as UK TV series ‘Eastenders’, ‘Family Affairs’ and ‘The Bill’ et al.
Young and old are invited to enjoy Ike’s performance in the bandstand Sunday the 4th of March. The performance will commence at 16h00, and entrance is free! Concert-goers are encouraged to arrive from 15h00, and bring their own picnics (no food or drinks will be for sale), chairs, sun umbrellas, rugs, etc. De Waal Park is located on Molteno Road with entrances on Molteno, Upper Orange and Camp Streets.
